This is a ride for those who prefer the gravel roads and want to find beautiful landscapes and a lot of ancient history. The trip is recommended to do in two stages, the first day to drive four hours north, ride in the afternoon and sleep well, and for the second day spend half morning riding to Caral and after the visit to the ruins, riding bak down to the coast getting to Vegueta before driving back to Lima.

About the Place:
Caral citadel is 5,000 years old and represents in the history timeline, the first organized civilization in America, the place where the Andean culture was born. Discovered, cleaned and recovered now we can see some impressive pyramidal buildings that were covered by sand for three thousand years.
A one day trip is possible to make but shortens the time for riding spending 8 hours traveling. Recommended to make it in two days.

A four hours trip by the Panamerican Highway is needed.
Two days on a private van + One night at a hostel.
Day 1: Leaving Lima early to ride to Huaral, staying in the surrounding areas of the village. Hotel.
Day 2: Leaving for start the ride to Caral around 7am. Visit to the archaeological site. Riding back to the coast starting at noon. Lunch and return to Lima.
Some travel notes: Trip could be extended more days, from Caral we may continue north or to the Andes to Huaraz.
What to bring: Try to bring your own basic equipment: helmet, gloves.
We will decide the track to do depending your profile. But as regular measure you should carry in your backpack at least 1 Lt of water, some snacks and fruit
A windvest or a couple of layers in winter days and a lot of sunscreen in summer.
Any broken or damaged part of the bike or equipment, made intentionally or not, caused by riders or terrain issues must get paid back at commercial prices (ex: frame, levers, gears, derrailleur, tyres, wheels, helmet, gloves, etc).
Any injury caused by any reason during the ride is fully responsability of the rider and any medical or transportation cost must be covered by the rider. This is an adventure sport activity subject by its nature to any kind of non expected events.
