Caral Valley
This is a ride for those who prefer gravel roads and want to find beautiful landscapes and a lot of ancient history. The trip is recommended to do in two stages, on the first day drive four hours north, ride in the afternoon and sleep well, and for the second day spend half the morning riding to Caral and after the visit to the site, riding back down to the coast before driving back to Lima.
Season: All the year.

500 mt Positive Elevation / 50 Km / 4-5 hours riding time.
About the Place:
Caral citadel is 5,000 years old and represents in the history timeline, the first organized civilization in America, the place where the Andean culture was born. Discovered, cleaned and recovered now we can see some impressive pyramidal buildings that were covered by sand for three thousand years.

The Trip:
A four hours trip by the Panamerican Highway is needed.
Two days on a private van + One night at a hostel.
Day 1: Leaving Lima 8 am to Huacho, staying in a hotel in the countryside or the beach of the village. Time to do a short ride around.
Day 2: We will begin the ride to Caral around 7am. We will arrive before noon. Then, a couple of hours for the visit to the archaeological site. After some snacks we will ride back to the coast. Pick up, lunch and return to Lima, arriving at night
What to bring: Try to bring your own basic equipment: helmet, gloves.
We will decide the track to do depending your profile. But as regular measure you should carry in your backpack at least 1 Lt of water, some snacks and fruit
A windvest or a couple of layers in winter days and a lot of sunscreen in summer.
Some important travel notes:
The trip could be extended a couple of days, riding to the nearest Andean village: Churin known because its healthy hotsprings.
We supply a private transportation to have some partial support during the ride and an easier trip carrying bikes and all the stuff.
OUR CONDITIONS:
Any broken or damaged part of the bike
or equipment, made intentionally or not, caused by riders or terrain
issues must get paid back at commercial prices (ex: frame, levers,
gears, derrailleur, tyres, wheels, helmet, gloves, etc).
Any injury
caused by any reason during the ride is fully responsability of the
rider and any medical or transportation cost must be covered by the
rider. This is an adventure sport activity subject by its nature to any
kind of non expected events.
