About the Place:
The Lurín River Valley is Lima’s closest and most peaceful escape for traffic-free cycling. Starting from the villages of Pachacamac or Cieneguilla, the route follows the river upstream in a scenic loop along gravel and asphalt roads. This valley once hosted a pre-Inca trail linking coastal and Andean deities, and today it reveals a rich tapestry of ancient ruins and hidden Inca sites—perfect for riders seeking nature, history, and adventure.
The Rides:
The ride is done along the valley and the bottom of the mountains on gravel and paved roads.
For enthusiast and beginners the loop can take around of 20K and 200 mt of total climb.
But if you are more than a beginner, loop can reach the 45 Kms and 400 mt climbing.
For people with more experience and fitness the longer ride may fit, in this case we ride almost 55 Km with 700 mt of total climb.
Available the whole year
Usually dry, during months of June to September is possible to have rains, in this case we could change the starting point.
From January to March leaving the city at the earliest is recommended (best from 6:30 to 7am).
What to bring:
Try to bring your basic equipment: helmet, gloves (otherwise we have some to provide you).
During summer (jan-apr) 1 Lt of water and sunscreen, some money to buy anything else at some local shop.
Rest of the year (may-dec) add a wind vest or a couple of layers.
From July to October there is more chances to have rains (mud with it), so having some extra clothes for after ride could be necessary.
