About the Place:
El Morro is a dry, rocky and dusty place in the southern extreme of Lima Bay. Because of its location and height (nearly 300m) weather is similar to the city and during summer (Feb/Mar) is very hot and dry, so is better to ride early, on winter (Aug/Sep) is quite humid and bit cold and some days covered by myst.
The Trail:
To reach El Morro, we ride from our office along Lima’s seafront for about 30 minutes. The Morro trail itself covers around 12 km, but with optional extra tracks the ride can extend to 15–16 km. The singletrack route takes a maximum of a couple of hours and features continuous climbs and descents on XC/enduro-style singletracks. Please note: we do not offer downhill-only rides.
Beginners Important Note / Advice:
If you consider yourself as BEGINNER you may ride some trails and use this ride as a a learning experience. If you prefer to have mountain biking LESSONS please ask for them.
All year Season
Lima best season is from November to May, From June to October drizzles are more frequent mostly in the morning, having 15 to 17 °C of temperature and almost 100% of humidity, however by the kind of soil of the Morro, this place remains enough wet for riding without mud and maybe with a good grip and riding hours move to 8-9 am.
