



Coast, Andes and Jungle
A six days trip, starting from Lima in the coast of Peru, we will drive to the Andes to start the adventure of riding down to the jungle, on a road that goes from nearly 4500mt to 500mt in Chanchamayo valley. After a couple of riding days in this jungle lands we will drive back to Lima. To Finish this trip we will take a stop in the Andean village of San Damian for a last day riding down to San Bartolo beach in the coast of Lima.
Season: From May to October.
5 biking days and one day traveling to destination by ground.

These months are best to ride in these three main regions together. Anyway as always in Peru we have to check the weather forecast.
From January to March is not available.
About the place:
This trip starts in the central Andes, one of the most productive lands and the most important food supplier of Lima from centuries. After the arrival of Spaniards this Andean region became a spot for spread the church, and one target destination was Chanchamayo with no real succeed destination.
After finish the jungle adventure we will be back to the Andes to get ready to ride the downhill to the Pacific Coast
Suggested Itinerary:
Trip is tailored to your average of riding, is open to make arrangements in third party services and distance of riding days.
Day 1: 7 to 8 hours road trip from Lima to the Mantaro Andean valley 3400mt/ . Leaving Lima at 6am we could be there 3pm. Hotel in the Andes valley. Day to get ready and acclimatized a bit.
Day 2: Shuttled to Molinos highlands we start the full day riding down to the jungle, highest point is around 4600mt/ and arrival in La Merced is nearly 750mt/. All the ride is on gravel road. Hotel in the jungle highlands.
Day 3: Drive to Paucartambo Bridge 800mt/ and ride to Villa Rica 1500mt/ and then to Yurinaki 550mt/ in the jungle highland valley. Hotel in the jungle highlands.
Day 4: Driving back to the Andes we take the road from Huaricolca 4100mt/ to ride down to Ricran 3600mt, then, climb and cross the mountain range at 4100mt/ and then down to Jauja in the Mantaro valley 3400mt/. Hotel in the Andes valley.
Day 5: Road trip back to Lima, in our way back we turn in Cocachacra 1400mt/ to go to Santiago de Tuna 3000mt/ riding this Andean highlands to the town of Tupicocha 3300mt/ , and then, to San Damian town. Basic lodging in the Andes mountains.
Day 6: Transportation from San Damian to Buenavista 3600mt, to ride down to the coast by the Olleros road or trail. finishing in San Bartolo Beach.

The Spots:
Valle del Mantaro: The biggest Andean valley of Peru, located in the center of the country. 3400 masl average.
Monobamba Downhill: A village on the way to the Jungle. A ride of almost 4,000mt of drop.
Chanchamayo: Known as the Central Jungle, is the nearest jungle by ground from Lima.
Villa Rica: As Chanchamayo is an important place of coffee producers.
Olleros Downhill: A classic destination for biking in Lima. A 3600mt downhill ride from the Andes to the Pacific Coast.
What to bring:
Try to bring your equipment.
Depending on the level any ride is no less than four hours, so you must carry at least 1 or 2 Lt of water, some snacks and fruits.
A wind vest or a couple of layers if it rain, on highlands use some winter clothes and sunscreen.
Some important travel notes:
We supply private transportation but partial support during the rides.
Weather in Andes highlands and jungle are not predictable and can makes us change the schedule.
Seasons:
Recommended the dry but not the coldest season so it´s better during the months of May, June then September, October, November. July and August it may snow at the summits blocking the accesss to some roads.

Any broken or damaged part of the bike or equipment, intentionally or not, caused by riders or terrain issues must get paid back at commercial prices (ex: frame, levers, gears, derailleur, tyres, wheels, helmet, gloves, etc).
Any injury caused by any reason during the ride is the full responsibility of the rider and any medical or transportation cost must be covered by the rider. This is an adventure sport activity subject by its nature to any kind of non-expected events.
